Am I depressed or just an a hole?

I have been having a lot of issues with the type of person I have turned into.
I used to be happy go lucky, laughing all the time and enjoying life but as the years have gone on, I find myself more and more unhappy. I'm not sure if it's because of all the things that are wrong with the world or if it's a depression of some kind but I find myself becoming more and more negative as the years go by.
I've already read two books on negativity trying to deal with it but they haven't worked. I try to be thankful for the good things in the world but everyday I hear something else that makes me lose fatih in humanity. Look at the wars going on, the destruction of the rain forests, the pollution, over fishing of the oceans, cooperate greed, violence, political waste, crime the list goes on and on.
Thats not all. I lash out at people when I'm driving that piss me off, I judge my friends for the stupid things they do and I am starting to dislike people in general.
What happened to me?

I think you're just human. And it is a sad realization when you look around. Most people suck and we are the only species wiping one another out, along with destroying our environment! I think it's also hard when you realize that things aren't as "sweet" as you once remembered. It sucks, but I think it's just life. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders-- just don't let the real a-holes make you bitter.
Make a list of all of the good things going in your life. It's a start. You are just being realistic.
I feel the same way. :O)

Text Messages, Seduction, And Women - Do They Go Hand In Hand?   by Andrew Grimsley

Even though I am not an old man, sometimes I feel like a virtual dinosaur when it comes to technologies. For that reason, I fought off the idea of using text messages as a way to try and build rapport and attraction with a woman. Yeah, I heard all of my friends who are the same age as me (and a little more tech friendly) talk all of the time about texting women. The thing that really kept me on the sidelines was, as much as these guys were talking about texting women, they were not really getting much action at all out of it.

So, it kind of did the job of making me feel comfortable in my decision not to use texting as a part of my overall seduction "repertoire." Yeah, I would text a woman real quick to let her know I was going to be at her house in 15 minutes or something like that, but other than those trivial logistical issues... I really did not see the point of it all.

It's always funny to me to see a bunch of 20 something guys giggling like school girls as their fingers pound the little keyboards on their smart phones. Looking at them, I knew I did not want to be one of those guys.

Then it happened.

I met a woman one weekend, did the usual exchange of phone numbers, and when she got in contact with me again... I just happened to be home bound with a serious case of the sniffles. Like a cold medicine filled zombie, I picked up my cell phone when I heard that vibration alerting me that she was sending me another text message and next thing you know... I'm texting back and forth with her for like a half an hour and it is kind of fun.

No, I was not giggling like a school girl, but I was having a good time and it seemed like she was as well. That whole exchange lasted for about 30 minutes and I really did not think of it all that much until the next time I got in contact with her and we met up for coffee and conversation.

She was smiling from ear to ear.

I like to arrive on a good note, and from the expression on her face, I had definitely arrived on a pretty high note in her mind. It was almost like she could not contain her happiness and there was something else there as well. It was like she was thinking that we shared some inside joke that no one else in that coffee shop had a clue about.

I sat down next to her and reached for the cup of coffee that was waiting there for me. And she burst out with a little laughter. I asked what she was laughing about and she said that she was just thinking about what I texted her a week ago. To be honest, I hadn't put much thought into it and I kind of needed a little refresher on exactly what it was she was referring to.

Safe sex via text...

We had gone back and forth with some somewhat naughty innuendos and sexually playful jokes and that was what had been on her mind all that week. Now, in case you did not catch it... yes, a brief exchange via cell phone caused her to think about sex and me all in the same train of though... all week long.

That is when I realized the real power of texting women. It's not in acting like a giggling school girl. And it's not in sending mundane one liners just to feel like you are connected to her. It's about being able to share in a secret exchange that she feels is safe.

See, a woman like the one I had met is not the type to just immediately go back and forth with a guy she did not know all too well with any sexual innuendos or playful pillow talk. However, from the safe confines of her home, via her cell phone... she was OPEN in a way that she probably would not have been had we been face to face.

When texting a woman you do not want to be just another generic guy...

The reason why so many guys get practically no action from all that text messaging that they do with women, is that they are just another generic guy on the other end of that message. They don't even try to get her open in a way that she usually does not get. They don't try and share anything with her that will force a strong connection with her.

Do Texting, Seduction and Women go hand in hand?

You bet they do. The thing is, you cannot approach it the way that most guys do. If you follow what the rest of the pack is doing, you are going to be lucky if you even get the scraps of the dating world.

Be playful. They like that. Be bold. They LOVE that. Be naughty... and she will be naughty back.
