Ladakh Outing tour to india by Jameshari
Overview:
Ladakh outing is the shorter version of Markha valley, this trek is also part of the Hemis high altitude national park. The trek starts from Martsellang village after having a visit to famous Hemis monastery. You will be hiking through beautiful village of Shang, cross over couple of high passes (4880 mtrs ) few shepherd camps and lower base camp of Stok Kangri and beautiful rock formation through Stok gorge, the trek will end at Stok village than drive back to Leh.
Day 01: Arrive Leh
Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight for Leh.
Arrive Leh and transfer to the Hotel.
Leh City: The capital of Ladakh, at one time was a major stop on the Asian" Silk Route: Stroll along the main bazaar, observing the varied crowd and peering into the Curio shops is an entrancing experience. Behind the main Bazaar is less crowd is less bustling but has intriguing little shops selling curios and jewelry like pearls, turquoise, coral, malachite, lapis and many other kinds of semi-precious stones, as well as curiously carved Yak-horn boxes, quaint brass locks, china or metal bowls etc.

Day 02: Leh
AM: Excursion Spituk
PM: Excursion to Sankar Gompa & Shanti Stupa :
Post breakfast we depart for AM Sightseeing tour to Spituk, This is one of the most important monastery in Ladakh , its belongs to Gelugspa or yellow head order, Monastery was founrde by Lama Lawang Lotus and King Dragspa Bumlde in 15th ce, One could visit various temple dedicated to different deities.
Later we drive back to hotel on time for lunch
Later in the afternoon, visit Sanker Gompa, which is towards the north of the Town, The monastery is only 130yrs old and is the seat for the head lama of Spitok Monastery.
Later visit Shanti Stupa, The Japanese for World Peace built the Shanti Stupa, at Changspa, on the hilltop, and was inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1992. Its state of the art work attracts a lot of tourists to Ladakh and is spectacular to watch. From there one can see spectacular view of Leh town and Indus valley.

Day 03: Excursion to Shey, Thiksey, Hemis and camp at Shang.
Today we proceed for Indus Valley monastery tour. We start with a visit to Shey the ancient capital of Ladakh. The Palace here has a huge copper-gilded statue of Buddha Sakyamuni and a big prayer hall on the lower floor where the monks from hemis gather once in a year and recite Kangyur.
Then we visit Thiksey Gompa an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. The monastery has a beautiful 30 m high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha, the Buddha of the future.after leaving Thiksay you will continue to Hemis visit the 17th ce old monastery. Hemis is belongs to Drugpa Kargyudpa school. this is one of the largets and most important monastery in Ladakh. After visiting the Monastery drive to Martsellang and trek to Shang Sumdhu, which will take 3 to 4 hrs. On arrival Check into camp. which will be set up for you to spend the night
Highlight of the Trek: The entire trek goes through Hemis National Park, which covers an area of 3200sqkm. there is good chances of viewing some of its wild life, like Blue sheep the most common one apart from this, Himalayan Marmoot, wolf, himalayan fox, Snowleopard, Golden eagle, Lammergier, himalayan Griffons, Sonw cock and Patriges etc.
Day 04: Trek to Shang phoo (4100mtrs)
After breakfast collect your pack lunch and start trek to Shang Phu, Trek to Shang phu will take about 5hrs, trek along the Shang village for first half then enter into a narrow gorge to get to the campsite. On the way you will pass one Lato the protector deity of the area.

Day 05: Trek to Matho Phu via Shang la (4880mtrs)
After breakfast trek towards Shang la (Pass) Gradual ascent all the way to the top then descent down to Matho phu. One could get great view of some of the peaks in Karakoram and Ladakh ranges.

Day 06: Trek to Tsaskhangchen.
Today you will make a D tour of some of Matho Kangri. After leaving the camp you will slowly ascent towards western side one could go as high as 5800 mtrs depend upon someone's stamina, then trek down to Tsaskhangchen for overnight stay.
Day 07: Trek to Mankarmo via Stok La 4800 mtrs.
After leaving the camp you will start ascending towards Stok la, which will take little more than an hour to get to the top, from here one could get a great view of Stok and Matho Kangri. Descend down to Zurlais which is another shepherd camp use by the village of Stok. Trek bit further down to get to Mankarmo for overnight stay, which is also known as lower as base camp for Stok Kangri.

Day 08: Trek to Stok and Drive to Leh:
After breakfast start hiking back to Stok village through Stok gorge which has got some great rock formation, On arrival in Stok Vehicle will be meet you to take back to Leh on the way you could stop at Stok Palace, visit the Palace Museum.
Overnight at hotel
Day 09: Leh - Delhi.
In time transfer to the airport to board the flight back Delhi.
