Both Marathi bride and groom wear mundavalya, which are strands of pearls tied horizontally across the forehead and on either side of the face. The vertical strands of the mundavalya dangle to the chin. The brides in Maharashtra wear dark green Paithni saris, matched with green glass bangles and gold bangles, which really look amazing. A nath or a nose ring studded with pearls is an important element of the bridal jewellery in Marathi matrimony.
